Be an advocate
At its core, advocacy is just a conversation with your community leaders or elected officials. Effective advocacy begins with knowing which person, or unit of government has responsibility for the specific policy or program that you want to affect. When it comes to hunger, every level of government has a role to play. At Feeding Alabama, we advocate for specific, hunger-focused policy priorities and we encourage civic engagement among our partner agencies, neighbors and supporters. As the Food Bank network builds a stronger community free of hunger, we need you to help us get there.
Join our advocacy alert email list to be notified when legislators are about to make an important decision that will impact hunger in your community. We do not send you tons of email through this action alert list. Our focus is making it easy for you to contact your legislators about hunger at the moments when that communication can make the biggest difference.
