Did you know?
1 in 5 Children in Alabama are food insecure.
Research has shown that children are often not identified as food insecure until they enter the public school system. Children who are food insecure are at greater risk of:
- poor health;
- hospitalizations; and
- developmental delays.
Feeding Alabama, in partnership with the Alabama Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, is working to reduce childhood hunger and its negative health effects through an innovative childhood hunger screening program + supplying their families with valuable resources to help end hunger in their homes
You have a unique opportunity to help. The Daniel Foundation of Alabama has awarded Feeding Alabama a $15,000 Challenge Grant. What exactly does that mean? It means for EVERY $1 you donate, The Daniel Foundation will match your gift, doubling the impact.
