Alabama’s food banks are working hard to meet the demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Alabama attorneys are stepping up to the challenge to help feed our state’s most vulnerable families through the 5th Annual Legal Food Frenzy.

The Alabama Legal Food Frenzy is an annual statewide competition among law firms to benefit Alabama’s regional food banks. The Alabama Food Bank Association partners with the Alabama State Bar and the Attorney General to run the fundraiser. During the competition attorneys and legal departments compete to see which firm can donate the most meals per employee to Alabama’s food banks. The competition is run by the Alabama Food Bank Association, the Alabama State Bar and the Attorney General’s office.

The fifth year of the Legal Food Frenzy just ended raising over 160,000 meals for Alabama families facing hunger. In the age of COVID-19, food security is a bigger issue than ever before. The proceeds from the competition will impact families across the state through its food banks network. The winning firm raising the most meals per employee was Martin & Helms P.C. in Huntsville raising 15,000 meals and earning the Attorney General’s Cup.

“Our law firm has always had a passion for helping others in our community. North Alabamians are struggling right now, and we wanted to help ease that struggle however we could. Having food on the table and in the pantry can go a long way to making things better. We are thankful that we were in a position to contribute to the mission of the Food Bank of North Alabama.”
