Easy-Peasy Overnight Oatmeal
This easy-peasy overnight oatmeal cooks low and slow while you sleep. Steel-cut oats simmer in a slow-cooker water bath with milk and a touch of maple syrup, so you wake up to a warm, creamy breakfast with almost no effort.

You Will Need
- Large glass bowl
- Slow cooker
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup steel-cut oatmeal
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cups water
- Pinch of salt
- 2+ tablespoons almond butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)
- Fruit, for topping
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Step 1 In a glass bowl large enough to hold 4 cups of liquid, combine the oats, milk, water, and salt.
- Step 2 Place the bowl in a large slow cooker and add enough cold water to come about an inch from the top of the glass bowl (a water bath for the oats).
- Step 3 Cover the slow cooker with the lid and switch it on low. Depending on your slow cooker, you may need to set a cooking time.
- Step 4 Cook anywhere from 7 hours 30 minutes to 9 hours for great results.
- Step 5 Stir in the almond butter and maple syrup, top with fruit, and serve warm.
